Sales Engineering

NAASE exists to provide a certifying trade association for the roughly 67,000 sales engineers throughout the USA, plus the additional SE’s in Mexico and Canada. Currently there is no widely known professional designation nor trade organization for the career sales engineer. Join NAASE today to network with a group for sales engineers, started by a long-time sales engineer and industry consultant/writer sales engineering.
Our mission here at NAASE is a simple one: we aim to foster a base of Certified Sales Engineers across North America, enable them to connect with one another, and actively promote the profession.
“We at NAASE believe that the Sales Engineer plays a crucial role in the workforce. However, without a large body and certification behind it, the Sales Engineer can often find themselves lacking an organization to belong to. The North American Association of Sales Engineers aims to fill that gap with its Certified Sales Engineer designation, through enabling members to connect, providing an open forum for members to discuss hot topics in the field, and by advocating on behalf of the profession.”

Sales engineering is a hybrid of sales and engineering that exists in industrial and commercial markets. Buying decisions in these markets are made differently than those in many consumer contexts, being based more on technical information and rational analysis and less on style, fashion, or impulse.
The essence of the sales engineering role can be called by various names. Which name is most apt can even depend on which industry it is used in.
